Idiopathic granulomatous hypophysitis is a very rare inflammatory disease of the pituitary gland. Primary hypophysitis represents a difficult diagnostic challenge because it can imitate pituitary adenomas clinically and radiologically. The diagnosis is usually made histologically by hypophysectomy.
